My photographic work explores universal issues of humanity, reflecting an interest in the mysteries of life and the non-material world. I am most interested in issues of love, loss, and spirituality, which transcend notions of race, religion and culture. The Burn series evolved from my ongoing interest in life cycles. While accompanying restoration ecologists on prairie burns, I am drawn to the ephemeral quality of a single moment when life and death do not seem opposed to each other, but are parts of a single process to be accepted as a whole.
